They have not been known to fly or jump, however, they are able to move rapidly.

When returning home, wash the garments from your journey and put them in a very high heat dryer. Inspect new and used furnishings before bringing them inside. Look in seams, tufts, and beneath cushions.

  • You can see the bed bugs themselves, their shed skins, or their droppings in bed seams and different objects in the bedroom. There will also be blood stains on sheets.

How do I manage a bed bug issue in my home?

It can be done, however, it normally calls for what’s known as an “integrated pest management” (IPM) approach. This combines strategies that pose the least harm to your life and the environment. Try these strategies:

  • Clean and remove clutter, specifically in your bedroom.

  • Move your mattress far from partitions or furnishings.

  • Vacuum molding, home windows, and flooring each day.

  • Vacuum sides and seams of mattresses, box springs, and furnishings.

  • Empty the vacuum or the bag right away and dispose of it outdoors in a sealed holding device or bag.

  • Wash sheets, pillowcases, blankets, and mattress skirts and position them in a high heat dryer for at least over 30 minutes.

  • Consider the usage of bed and box spring covers –the type used for dust mite management–and position duct tape over the zippers. Seal cracks and crevices and any openings in which pipes or wires come into the home.

Should I additionally try pesticides?
